George Autry, an attorney in the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (Cranfill Sumner), was recently elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors for the Owners’ Counsel of America (OCA), a national network of experienced condemnation attorneys. George Autry, Stephanie Autry, and Brady Wells, all attorneys in the Raleigh office of CSH, attended the OCA meeting on January 25-26 in New Orleans.
George also serves as North Carolina’s representative for the OCA.
Owners’ Counsel of America is the only national organization comprised solely of skilled eminent domain attorneys representing private owners. OCA provides property owners nationwide with a single source for locating an attorney who can assist the owner through every stage of property condemnation – from pre-condemnation planning through the appeal. OCA attorneys are in private practice and represent property owners against the government, transportation authorities, utilities, redevelopment agencies and other entities that possess the power of eminent domain (also known as the power to condemn).
